One of our clients is looking for a Solicitor/Senior Solicitor to join their Litigation & Dispute Resolution team, based in Edinburgh.
The successful candidate will provide commercial legal advice to corporate and private clients on a range of commercial litigation matters both in England and Scotland and deliver an excellent client service. The right candidate will likely be 2-4 years PQE.
This permanent role is primarily based in our clients Edinburgh office but can be supported with a hybrid approach.
This role involves:
- Managing your workload competently, professionally, efficiently and cost effectively with minimum supervision to achieve client and firm objectives.
- Advising clients and provide risk/benefit analysis of settlement or progressing with the dispute.
- Gather evidence and witnesses to support the client's position.
- Issue court proceedings or embark on a process of alternative dispute resolution.
- Represent clients at hearings and case management conferences.
- Instruct counsel.
- Representing clients in sheriff court, proofs and debates.
- Draft pleadings efficiently and accurately.
- Research and advise on various areas of dispute including insolvency, construction, property, company/commercial matters.
- Be pro-active in the financial control of all your own and team matters, including accurate time recording and prompt feeing.
- Contribute constructively to the work of other team members in the Litigation division and contribute to delivering technical training within the division.
- Keep up to date with case law and legislative changes with relevant law.
